WEB GEMS- Top 6th: Manny Ramirez robbed Dean Palmer of an extra base hit.

In a thriller the Arizona ballclub staged a dramatic comeback then held on to
win over the Cleveland Indians by a score of 4 to 3 at The Ballpark.

Arizona had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs using 3 hits.
Steve Finley started the inning off right when he doubled. Dean Palmer was
a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Bill Mueller then cleared the fences
for a two-run home run (his 1st of the season). After another out, Jay Bell
came to the plate and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 1st of the season).
Arizona had a total of 8 hits for the game.

The victory went to Jose Jimenez(1-0) who went 2/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Jimenez got help from Steve Kline who was credited with his 1st save.
Armando Benitez(1-2) took the loss in relief.

The Arizona manager was happy after the game, 'It's great to come back and win in
your last at bats! Our guys just wouldn't give up. And did you see the fans
- one minute they're laughing and screaming down all sorts of unprintable
stuff at our guys - the next minute - SILENCE! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win
tonight!'
