The Seattle Mariners edged the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings at Camden
Yards by the score of 2 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine.  Seattle won it in the 10th inning.
Roberto Alomar lined a single.  Edgar Martinez stepped up next and he drew a
walk.  Craig Counsell then laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Alex Rodriguez
followed and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Juan Gonzalez
stepped into the box and hit a sacrifice fly giving Seattle the win much to
the delight of the home town crowd.  Seattle banged out 11 on the afternoon.

Kazuhiro Sasaki(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Rheal
Cormier(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 1 run and 2 hits
in 1 and 2/3 innings.

John Burkett came through with a solid 8 innings and third baseman Shea
Hillenbrand homered as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers
in 11 innings by a score of 4 to 3 at Camden Yards.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings.  Seattle ended up
winning it in the 11th inning.  Marty Cordova singled.  Hillenbrand stepped
up next and he smacked a single.  Matt Williams then doubled giving Seattle
the victory as 42,882 happy fans celebrated wildly.  Seattle managed 8 in
their victory.  

The winning pitcher was Arthur Rhodes(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Guillermo Mota(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning
allowing 2 hits and no walks.

Sheffield provided much of the offense.  He clubbed a three-run home run in
the 3rd inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 2nd
of the season) in the 5th inning.  Los Angeles had 12 hits overall, while
Seattle had 9.  

Kevin Brown(1-0) got the win allowing 1 run in 5 and 2/3 innings. Brown got
help from Jeff Shaw who earned his 1st save.  Jamie Moyer(0-1) was the losing
pitcher.  He was not very effective, surrendering 4 runs in 3 and 2/3
innings.

Roberto Alomar hit for the cycle and had 2 RBI at Dodger Stadium where the
Seattle Mariners beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 11 innings by the score of 8
to 6.

The score was tied at 6 after nine.  Seattle ended up winning it in the 11th
inning.  Dan Wilson got things going when he laced a base-hit.  Devon White
was the next batter, but he struck out.  Alomar then popped a two-run clout
over the fence (his 1st of the season).  Seattle took care of Los Angeles
with no trouble in the bottom of the 11th.  

The win went to Pedro Borbon(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Bob File
got the save, his 1st.  Mark Guthrie(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.

In a two run game the Seattle Mariners got by the Los Angeles Dodgers by the
score of 4 to 2.

Alex Rodriguez led the offense for Seattle.  He caught a hold of a bad pitch
for a Grand Slam homerun (his 1st of the season) in the 3rd inning and
doubled in the 5th inning.  Neither team managed to score after the 3rd
inning.  

Freddy Garcia(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Garcia
got relief help from Kazuhiro Sasaki who gained credit for his 1st save.
Mike Mussina(0-1) was the loser.  He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in 5 innings.
