The win was credited to Steve Kline(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing

WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: Steve Finley robbed Phil Nevin of an extra base hit.

Roger Cedeno had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Oakland A's defeated the Arizona
club by the score of 6 to 5 at SAFECO Field.

Oakland claimed the early lead in the first inning as they scored 2 runs on 2

happy when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 4th of
the season). Arizona had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.
