Jose Vidro had 2 base hits and Matt Clement whiffed 10 batters as the
Pittsburgh Pirates staged a dramatic comeback over the New York Yankees by a
score of 4 to 3 at Miller Park.

Pittsburgh won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs on 3 hits. Erubiel Durazo led off and started the attack as he doubled.
Craig Wilson came to the plate and smashed a two-run homer (his 1st of the
season). Reggie Sanders then drew a walk. After an out was recorded,
Sanders proceeded to steal third base. Ben Davis stepped into the box and
slapped a one-base hit making Pittsburgh the victors to the delight of the
home town faithful. Pittsburgh totaled 11 on the night.

Justin Speier(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory.
Keith Foulke(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. Mike Rescigno was in great
spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his feelings after
the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you this much - I
know how my counterpart, Jim Taglia, feels right now - and it's not very
good. It's terrible when you come up on the short end of one of these!'
