The Arizona team easily topped the Cleveland Indians; the final score was 11
to 6.

Magglio Ordonez had a big evening at the plate.  He doubled clearing all three
ducks off the pond. in the 3rd inning and lost the ball over the fence for
three runs (his 3rd of the season) in the 6th inning.  Arizona ended up with
15 hits for the game while Cleveland had 12.  

The winning pitcher was Justin Speier(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 3 and 2/3
innings. Mark Prior(2-1) absorbed the loss.  He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 5 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.

43,745 fans were treated to a fine game at The Ballpark as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Cleveland Indians won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning Cleveland scored 2 runs.  Omar Vizquel led off
and keyed the rally when he lined a single.  Kenny Lofton followed, but he
was set down on strikes.  One out later, Manny Ramirez stepped in and he
lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 4th of the season).
Arizona threatened in the 9th but Cleveland was able to put down the rally.

Esteban Loaiza(2-0) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win.
Rafael Soriano earned his 1st save.  Curt Schilling(1-1) was the losing
pitcher.  His ERA ballooned from 1.00 to 2.25 as he allowed 3 runs in 7
innings.

Brian Lawrence pitched a complete game shutout as the Cleveland Indians were
badly beaten by the Arizona team, 10 to 0.

Bill Mueller had a great day at the plate.  He had the crowd cheering his
every move.  He tripled scoring two baserunners in the 1st inning and
launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun (his 2nd of
the season) in the 4th inning.  Arizona had a total of 12 hits for the game.

Lawrence(3-0) went the distance for the shutout. Mark Prior(2-2) was tagged
with the loss.  He was touched for 9 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
