John Mabry hit a grand slam as the Houston Astros defeated the Minnesota Twins
by the score of 8 to 7 at The Skydome.

Mabry enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He caught a hold of a fastball for a
Grand Slam homerun (his 1st of the season) in the 6th inning and tripled
plating a run in the 8th inning.  The game was a wild affair with the lead
changing hands 5 times.  

The win went to Octavio Dotel(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Billy Wagner gained credit for his 1st save.  Jon Rauch(0-1) was the loser in

Houston went ahead for good in the 3rd inning scoring a single run.  After two
outs Todd Walker ripped a solo home run (his 1st of the season).  Despite
scoring in 5 separate innings, Minnesota could not get the win.  

Billy Wagner(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Josh
Beckett(0-1) was hit with the loss.  He was unable to control the Houston

48,546 fans watched an exciting game at Tropicana Field.  The Minnesota Twins
topped the Houston Astros by the slimmest of margins, 8 to 7.

The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings.  Minnesota came out on
top in the 13th inning.  Aubrey Huff led off the inning for Minnesota when he
delivered a single.  Hideki Matsui stepped up next and he drew a walk.  Rod
Barajas dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.  Corey Koskie
stepped in and he delivered a one-base hit to load the bases.  After another
out, Tony Graffanino came up and he stroked a single giving Minnesota the
victory and sending the 48,546 home-town fans home happy.  The game was a
wild affair with the lead changing hands 6 times.  

The win was credited to Ricky Bottalico(1-0) who went 2 innings allowing 1
run. Rodrigo Lopez(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.

Mike Sweeney had 4 hits as the Houston Astros topped the Minnesota Twins by a
score of 7 to 5 at The Skydome.

Minnesota never recovered after Houston took the lead in the bottom of the 7th
inning scoring 2 runners on 3 hits.  The highlight belonged to Russ Adams who
brought the crowd to their feet when he lashed a single bringing in two
baserunners.  For the game Houston out-hit Minnesota 13 to 9.  

Justin Duchscherer(1-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Billy
Wagner was credited with his 2nd save.  Brad Radke(1-1) was given the loss.
He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
