C.C. Sabathia dominated striking out 10 Anaheim batters and Vernon Wells
slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Toronto club topped the Anaheim
Angels by a score of 8 to 2 at Edison Int'l Field.

Wells provided the offensive punch. He cleared the fences for a two-run home
run in the 1st inning, slapped a one-base hit in the 3rd inning and bombed a
two-run dinger in the 5th inning. Toronto had 11 hits overall, while Anaheim
had 6.

Sabathia(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Brett Myers(0-1) took the loss. He served up 4 homeruns in
his 8 innings.

Sabathia was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt
pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But, I had great support behind me
and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'
