41,883 fans watched an exciting game at Edison Int'l Field. The Anaheim
Angels topped the Washington Nationals by the slimmest of margins, 3 to
2.

Anaheim did all the necessary damage in the 2nd inning with 3 runs on 2 hits.
After an out was recorded, Troy Glaus got things going when he drew a walk.
Bengie Molina stepped into the batter's box and he laced a base-hit, and an
error was also committed. Nick Markakis then drew a walk to load the bases.
One out later, Francisco Liriano came to the plate and unleashed a wild
pitch. Endy Chavez stepped into the box and slapped a single. Bobby Abreu
struck out, unable to help the rally. That scoring would be all that was
needed. Washington threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Brett Myers(2-1) got the win allowing 2 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Joe Nathan
was credited with his 4th save. Liriano(1-1) was charged with the loss.

the Anaheim Angels defeated the Washington Nationals 9 to 5 at Yankee
Stadium.

WEB GEMS- Bot 8th: Mark Teixeira robbed Juan Rivera of a base hit.

Bengie Molina smashed 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Yankee Stadium where the
Anaheim Angels beat the Washington Nationals 8 to 5.

Molina was in a groove all evening. The Washington fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box. He blasted a two-run home run in the 2nd
inning, lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 4th inning
and ripped a solo home run in the 5th inning. Anaheim had 13 hits for the
game and Washington had 9.

The winning pitcher was Brett Myers(3-1) who allowed 5 runs in 6 innings.
Takashi Saito recorded his 1st save. Francisco Liriano(1-2) was the losing
pitcher. He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 6 innings of work.

'The ball was jumping off my bat' Molina said. 'I didn't do anything
differently, it's the same way I always approach the game.'
