WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Yadier Molina blocked the plate, saving a run!

In a dramatic ending the Seattle Mariners staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Kansas City Royals by the count of 5 to 2.

Seattle scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring 4 runners
on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Mike Cameron who
silenced Kauffman Stadium as he caught a hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam
homerun. Neither team was able to score until the 6th inning.

Dennis Sarfate(1-1) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win.
Francisco Rodriguez earned his 4th save. Roy Corcoran(0-1) was tagged with
the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.

Brooks Crandall was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us tonight'
