Felix Hernandez went 7 solid innings and Ryan Braun had 2 base hits at PNC
Park where the Seattle Mariners beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in 10 innings
by the score of 3 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Seattle won the hard fought contest in
the 10th inning.  Brandon Phillips was hit by a pitch.  Phillips got a great
jump and stole second easily.  Seattle continued their aggressive style with
another stolen base.  Brendan Ryan came up and he ripped a base-knock.
Seattle got their 2nd stolen base of the inning.  Two outs later Jason
Varitek stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  The Arizona offense
proved no trouble in the bottom of the 10th.  

David Aardsma(1-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Francisco
Rodriguez recorded the save, his 3rd.  Jose Valverde(1-1) took the loss in
relief.

In a lop-sided win the Arizona Diamondbacks ripped the Seattle Mariners by a 8
to 3 count.

The Arizona fans enjoyed the offense provided by Adam Jones.  He delivered a
base-hit in the 2nd inning, doubled which plated a run in the 3rd inning and
smashed a two-run homer in the 5th inning.  Arizona out-hit Seattle for the
game, 13 hits to 8.  

Randy Wells(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. Justin Verlander(1-2) took the loss.  He surrendered 7 hits
and 1 walk in 4 innings.

In a close game the Seattle Mariners got by the Arizona Diamondbacks by the

Trevor Hoffman(1-0) won the game with a masterful relief performance.  He
didn't allow much, just 1 hit and no walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.  Seattle
banged out 8 hits on the afternoon.  

The losing pitcher was Steven Jackson(0-1) in relief.  He surrendered 3 hits
and 2 walks in 1 inning.

Alex Rodriguez cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the Seattle Mariners defeated
the Arizona Diamondbacks 10 to 6 at Camden Yards.

Seattle came up with 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning with the help of 4
hits.  The big moment was provided by Rodriguez who brought a roar from the
partisan Camden Yards fans when he smacked a three-run homer.  For the game
Seattle out-hit Arizona 11 to 8.  

Randy Johnson(1-0) went 4 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
The loss was charged to Barry Zito(0-2).  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 7
hits and 4 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Dustin Pedroia hit a homerun and had 3 RBI at PNC Park as the Arizona
Diamondbacks beat the Seattle Mariners 6 to 4.

In the bottom of the 5th inning Arizona went on top for good scoring a single
run utilizing 2 base hits.  Martin Prado drew a walk.  Brad Bergesen followed
and he laid down a sacrifice bunt.  One out later, Pedroia came to the plate
and lined a one-base hit.  Yunel Escobar was up next and he laced a single.
Carlos Pena was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Arizona totaled 7
hits on the afternoon.  

Bergesen(1-1) allowed 2 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory. Bergesen
was helped out by Doug Mathis who recorded his 2nd save.  The losing pitcher
was Roy Oswalt(1-1).

Felix Hernandez went 7 solid innings as the Seattle Mariners defeated the
Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 5 to 2 at PNC Park.

Arizona never recovered after Seattle took the lead in the top of the 5th
inning scoring a single run on 2 hits.  Alex Rodriguez ripped a base-hit.
Rodriguez got a great jump and stole second easily.  Carlos Quentin then
ripped a one-base hit.  Seattle finished with 8 hits while Arizona ended up
with 4.  

The victory was credited to Hernandez(1-1) who went 7 innings, allowing no
runs. The losing pitcher was Randy Wells(2-1).  He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings
giving up 5 hits and no walks.
