Carlos Pena slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Arizona Diamondbacks
bested the Seattle Mariners 6 to 5 at Camden Yards.

Pena led the offense for Arizona.  He smashed a two-run homer in the 5th
inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 8th inning.  Seattle made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Jered Weaver(2-1) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Weaver
was helped out by Jose Valverde who recorded his 5th save.  Felix
Hernandez(2-1) was the loser.  He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 innings.

In a game at Camden Yards the Arizona Diamondbacks got by the Seattle Mariners
by the score of 5 to 2.

Martin Prado had a big day with his bat.  He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 1st inning, doubled bringing home two baserunners in
the 2nd inning and smacked a single in the 7th inning.  Arizona finished with
8 hits in the victory.  

Dallas Braden(1-1) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Braden
was helped out by Jose Valverde who recorded his 6th save.  Roy Oswalt(0-1)
was hit with the loss.

9,538 fans watched an exciting game at PNC Park.  The Arizona Diamondbacks
topped the Seattle Mariners by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

Arizona came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 8th inning with 3
runs using 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Rafael Furcal jump-started the
rally as he doubled.  Kosuke Fukudome stepped up to the plate and he blasted
a two-run home run.  Martin Prado then smashed a solo-shot out of the park.
Jose Bautista was up next and he drew a walk.  Chase Headley dug into the
batters box next, but he struck out.  Carlos Pena contributed to the rally
and drew a walk.  Arizona had just 6 hits for the afternoon.  

Jered Weaver(3-1) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Jose
Valverde earned his 7th save.  Billy Wagner(0-2) took the loss in relief.  He
pitched 1/3 of an inning and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.
