First baseman Albert Pujols hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Seattle
Mariners bested the Oakland A's 4 to 3 at Camden Yards.

Seattle scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning scoring 2
runs on 3 base hits.  Brandon Phillips led off and keyed the rally when he
singled.  After an out was recorded, Phillips took second on a stolen base.
Will Venable then cracked a two-run shot.  After another out, Pujols stepped
up to the plate and he slapped a one-base hit.  Carlos Quentin was next to
bat, but he was a strikeout victim.  Overall Seattle out-hit Oakland 8 to 5.

Eduardo Sanchez(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1/3 of an
inning. Francisco Rodriguez gained credit for his 4th save.  Chris
Carpenter(0-1) was the loser.

Tim Hudson allowed 3 hits while blanking Seattle at Camden Yards where the
Oakland A's beat the Seattle Mariners 5 to 0.

Hudson(4-2) was virtually untouchable.  He allowed only 3 hits and no walks in
9 innings improving his ERA from 2.20 to 1.73.  Oakland had 7 hits for the
night.  

Felix Hernandez(1-1) was hit with the loss.  'He was moving it around and
spotting it very well.' John Ferraro said.  Hudson pitched a great game. He
deserves all the credit.'

Brandon Beachy had an impressive outing as the Oakland A's staged a dramatic
comeback over the Seattle Mariners by a score of 2 to 1 at Turner
Field.

Oakland had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits.
George Kottaras led off and keyed the rally when he doubled.  Bryan Petersen
got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.  Nick Punto then tripled.
After another out, Todd Helton came to bat and was walked intentionally.
Austin Jackson stepped into the box and reached on an error.  The teams had
been locked in a scoreless duel until the 8th inning.  

Steve Cishek(1-0) allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. The losing pitcher was Francisco Rodriguez(0-1) in relief.  Jack
Mudd was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there
for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they
kept cheering us on.  What a sweet win!'

two-run shot.  For the game Seattle out-hit Oakland 8 to 3.

In a dramatic ending at Camden Yards the Seattle Mariners won in their last
at-bat beating the Oakland A's by the count of 7 to 5.

Seattle came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring
2 runs on 2 base hits.  Albert Pujols led off and he banged out a single.
After an out was recorded, Brandon Phillips came to the plate and lifted one
out of the park for a two run home run resulting in an exciting win for
Seattle and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Seattle
out-hit Oakland for the game, 13 hits to 10.  

Al Alburquerque(2-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Marco Estrada(0-1) took the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 run and 1 hit
in 2/3 of an inning.
