Adrian Beltre lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the Toronto
club defeated the Houston Astros 8 to 3 at US Cellular Field.

Beltre had a big day at the plate.  He cleared the fences for a two-run home
run in the 1st inning, doubled in the 4th inning and doubled which scored a
run in the 7th inning.  Toronto had 12 hits for the game and Houston had 7.

The win went to Garrett Richards(1-0) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings. Clayton
Kershaw(0-1) was given the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10 hits
and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Homer Bailey didn't allow a hit until the 6th inning at US Cellular Field as
the Houston Astros beat the Toronto ballclub 9 to 2.

Bailey(1-0) pitched a solid game.  He was reached for 3 hits and 1 walk in 5
and 2/3 innings.  The right-handed Bailey lost a no-hitter when Brayan Pena
singled with nobody out in the 6th inning.  Houston out-hit Toronto for the
game, 9 hits to 6.  

Bailey got relief help from Jerome Williams who gained credit for his 1st
save.  Hisashi Iwakuma(0-1) absorbed the loss.  He allowed Houston 5 runs in
4 innings of work.

Right fielder Nelson Cruz connected with a 'big fly' at Camden Yards where the
Toronto team beat the Houston Astros in 11 innings by the score of 5 to
4.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Toronto came out on top in the
11th inning.  After two were out Carlos Gomez doubled.  Jhonny Peralta
stepped into the batter's box and he was walked intentionally.  Ian Kinsler
then lashed a single to load the bases.  Kevin Frandsen came up and he laced
a base-knock giving Toronto the win as 50,371 happy fans joyfully celebrated.
Toronto banged out 11 hits on the night.  

The win went to Aroldis Chapman(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Edward
Mujica(0-1) was given the loss in relief.  He allowed Toronto 3 runs in 2 and
2/3 innings of work.

Toronto pitcher Henderson Alvarez(0-1) gave up the game's only run in the top
of the 4th inning.  Mike Napoli drew a walk.  Two outs later Gerardo Parra
came to bat and lashed a single.  Infante then slapped a single scoring the
run.  Edward Mujica pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 1st save.  

Clayton Kershaw(1-1) went 7 innings allowing no runs for the victory.

of margins, 4 to 3.

the 12th inning.  After an out was recorded, Ian Kinsler delivered a
base-hit.  Kevin Frandsen next to the plate and he laced a one-base hit.
Kole Calhoun then ripped a single making Toronto the winners and sending the
35,806 fans home happy.  Overall Toronto out-hit Houston 15 to 7.

The Houston Astros nipped the Toronto ballclub in 11 innings 2 to 1 at US
Cellular Field in a hard fought contest.

Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings.  Houston ended up
winning it in the 11th inning.  Jacoby Ellsbury reached on an error.  Jason
Kipnis came next and he was hit by a pitch.  Giancarlo Stanton then doubled
making Houston the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
Houston finished with 13 hits while Toronto ended up with 8.  

Jerome Williams(1-0) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Huston Street(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief.  He pitched 1/3 of an
inning and surrendered 1 hit and no walks.
