Adam Wainwright mowed down 10 Chicago batters as the San Francisco Giants
bested the Chicago White Sox 2 to 0 at Busch Stadium.

Wainwright(1-0) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for
the Chicago batters. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 4 hits and no
walks in 8 innings lowering his ERA from 2.57 to 1.20. San Francisco had 8
hits for the night while Chicago had 4.

Wainwright got help from Craig Kimbrel who earned his 1st save. Mike
Minor(0-2) took the loss. The San Francisco fans were thrilled by the
performance put forth by Wainwright, but it was clearly his strikeouts that
they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their
appreciation with a loud cheer.' Gene Kipfer said following the game.
