The Cleveland Indians nipped the Boston Red Sox 6 to 5 at Rangers Ballpark in
a hard fought contest.
Cleveland had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 6th inning when they
had 5 base hits. It was enough scoring to earn the victory. Boston
threatened in the 9th but Cleveland was able to put down the rally.
The winning pitcher was Ervin Santana(1-0) who allowed 4 runs in 7 and 1/3
innings. Jim Henderson gained credit for his 3rd save. Jordan
Zimmermann(0-1) ended up with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 13 hits
and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Santana, 'I was
just giving us a chance to win.'
