WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Jacoby Ellsbury robbed Yasiel Puig of an extra base hit.

Clayton Kershaw hurled a 3 hitter as the Houston Astros defeated the San
Francisco Giants by a score of 2 to 1 at Busch Stadium.

Houston came up with 2 runs in the 6th inning. The critical plate appearance
was by Jason Kipnis who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he
clubbed a two-run home run. The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th
inning.

Kershaw(4-1) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Hiroki
Kuroda(1-3) took the loss. He pitched 6 innings giving up only 3 hits and 1
walk.

Gene Kipfer lamented, 'Kershaw was really aggressive tonight. He kept coming
after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our guys down one after
another - like so many bowling pins!'
