Yasmani Grandal connected with a 'big fly' as the Houston Astros beat the
Toronto club by a score of 3 to 1.

Houston scored 2 runs in the decisive 6th inning. The key offensive moment
was provided by Mark Teixeira who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when
he popped a two-run clout over the fence. Toronto proved to be no trouble in
the 9th.

The win was credited to Chris Bassitt(1-0) who went 6 innings allowing 1 run.
Bassitt got relief help from Tony Watson who gained credit for his 1st save.
Chris Young(0-1) was hit with the loss.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Bassitt said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put
the ball where I wanted it.'

Mark Teixeira homered and had 2 RBI at US Cellular Field as the Houston Astros
beat the Toronto team 5 to 3.

Houston tallied 2 runs in the 4th inning. The pitchers took over after the
4th inning as neither team was able to score again.

The victory was credited to Rubby De La Rosa(1-0) who went 5 innings, allowing
3 runs. Huston Street recorded the save, his 3rd. The loss was charged to
Chris Archer(0-2). He struggled with his control issuing 6 walks in 3 and
2/3 innings.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' De La Rosa said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't
put the ball where I wanted it.'
