defeated the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 3 to 0 at Fenway
Park.

Cole(1-0) escaped virtually unscathed against the St. Louis hitters. He didn't
give up much, just 5 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. The pitchers took over
after the 2nd inning as neither team was able to score again.

Cole got help from Kirby Yates who was credited with his 1st save. Jacob
Degrom(0-1) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 6 hits in 7
innings.

Drew Stevenson was asked about the performance of Cole, 'He had his good stuff
out there tonight. The fans really get into it when the strikeouts start
mounting up - and that seems to give him even more adrenalin.'

In a dramatic ending the St. Louis Cardinals staged a comeback and held on to
win over the Miami Marlins by the count of 8 to 6.

St. Louis won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning when they
tallied 5 runs on 4 hits. The key at-bat was by Keston Hiura who helped
quiet the crowd when he doubled emptying the bases. St. Louis and Miami each
finished the night with 10 hits.

Joe Smith(1-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Archie
Bradley got the save, his 1st. Aroldis Chapman(0-1) was hit with the loss in
relief.

Drew Stevenson was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough
loss. He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a
terse, yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to
lose. Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin'
on us tonight'
