Stephen Strasburg didn't allow a hit until the 6th inning and Mike Trout
blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Globe Life Park as the Washington
Nationals embarrassed the Cleveland Indians by the lopsided score of 14 to
2.

Trout was really in 'the zone'. He ripped a base-knock in the 1st inning,
doubled bringing in a run in the 2nd inning, lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in
the 3rd inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 7th inning. Cleveland
was out-hit by Washington, 18 hits to 5.

The win was credited to Strasburg(3-0) who went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 2
runs. The right-handed Strasburg lost a no-hitter when Tommy Edman singled
with nobody out in the 6th inning. Frankie Montas(1-2) absorbed the loss.
Washington knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 7 runs in 2 and 1/3
innings.

Strasburg was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt
pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But, I had great support behind me
and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'

Chris Paddack retired 10 batters on strikeouts as the Cleveland Indians beat
the Washington Nationals by a score of 5 to 0.

Paddack(1-1) was solid in the win. He didn't give up much, just 4 hits and no
walks in 7 innings improving his ERA from 3.00 to 1.38. Cleveland managed 8
hits in their victory.

Paddack was helped out by Jordan Hicks who recorded his 1st save. Tyler
Glasnow(1-1) absorbed the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and
did not allow an earned run in the game.

Paddack was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'

Sonny Gray whiffed 10 batters and Mike Trout blasted a homerun and had 2 RBI
at Globe Life Park where the Washington Nationals beat the Cleveland Indians
by the score of 5 to 1.

Gray(3-0) looked very much in control throughout the night. He didn't give up
much, just 7 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings improving his ERA from
2.12 to 1.89. Cleveland was out-hit by Washington, 10 hits to 7.

Walker Buehler(1-2) ended up with the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 1 walk in 8
innings. Gray didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When
told he had 10 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I
had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's
pretty good, isn't it?'

2 to 1 win over the Cleveland Indians and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.

Washington scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. After an out was
recorded, Will Smith lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' making Washington the
victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Washington won despite
being out-hit by Cleveland 13 hits to 5.

Liam Hendriks(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jordan Hicks(0-1)
took the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and no walks in 1 and 1/3
