Walker Buehler racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts as the Cleveland
Indians defeated the Washington Nationals by a score of 3 to 1 at Marlins
Park.

Buehler(1-0) pitched a solid game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just
5 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Washington had 6 hits in the game while
Cleveland had 3, but Cleveland had the more timely hits.

Casey Sadler was credited with his 1st save. Shane Bieber(0-1) was tagged
with the loss. Buehler was humble when questioned about his performance,
'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had
great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an
extremely well called game!'

Tim Anderson cleared three ducks from a very crowded pond with a grand slam as
the Washington Nationals bested the Cleveland Indians 6 to 3 at Globe Life
Field.

Anderson was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He tripled in the 1st inning, launched a
rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 4th inning and
slapped a single in the 9th inning. Cleveland threatened in the 9th but
their rally came up short.

The win went to Tarik Skubal(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 6 innings. Skubal was
helped out by Chasen Shreve who recorded his 2nd save. Frankie Montas(0-1)
absorbed the loss. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned
run in his 3 and 2/3 innings of work.

the loss. While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 8 batters in
