The Kansas City Royals ended a long winless drought and got by the Seattle
Mariners at RingCentral Coliseum.  The final score was 6 to 4.

Kansas City had the game winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  Salvador Perez led off the inning for Kansas City
when he hit a single.  Victor Robles next to the plate and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt.  One out later, Luis Rengifo then lifted one out of the park
for a two run home run.  Kansas City had 10 hits for the night while Seattle
had 7.  

The victory was credited to A.J. Minter(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Jason Adam preserved the game for Minter, recording his his 2nd save.
Yency Almonte(0-1) suffered the loss in relief.

21,233 fans were treated to a fine game at RingCentral Coliseum as only one
run separated the combatants at game's end.  The Seattle Mariners ended a
long winless drought and won by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

In the 4th inning Seattle went on top for good plating one baserunner.  Kansas
City tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.  

Tony Gonsolin(3-0) went 7 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Gonsolin got
help from Ryan Helsley who earned his 2nd save.  Max Scherzer(3-1) was given
the loss.  While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 11 batters in
6 innings.

Mariners.

Seattle took the lead for good in the top of the 6th inning when they tallied
2 runs on 2 hits.  The highlight belonged to Travis D'Arnaud who silenced the
stadium when he doubled bringing in two baserunners.  Seattle had 11 hits
overall, while Kansas City had 5.  

Dylan Cease(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 1
run. The losing pitcher was Tyler Anderson(1-2).  He allowed 6 hits and 2
walks in 6 innings.

TEAM RISP- Mariners: 0 for 9  Royals: 2 for 7

One run was the difference at Kauffman Stadium as the Seattle Mariners
defeated the Kansas City Royals 2 to 1.

The game was won by Seattle with a run in the 9th inning.  After two outs Seby
Zavala lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'.  Seattle rapped out 7 hits for the
night.  

Daniel Bard(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning. Ryan
Helsley earned the save, his 3rd.  Steven Wilson(0-1) was the losing pitcher
in relief.  He gave up 1 run and 1 hit in 1 inning.
