Frank Castillo(5-1) thrilled the fans at Olympic Stadium as he crafted a
no-hit masterpiece against the Boston Red Sox. The Anaheim Angels won by a
final score of 12 to 0.
Although disappointed to see the hometown team lose, the fans certainly were
appropriately impressed with the dominating, no-hit performance of Castillo.
He walked 3 Boston batters. The tension started to build around the 6th
inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified. Anaheim finished with
15 hits in the victory.
Pedro Martinez(3-5) took the loss. When asked how his stuff was out there,
Castillo looked a bit incredulous (as did this reporter) and replied 'A bit
better than average, I'd have to say'
