Pollock robbed Chase Headley of an extra base hit. Matt Harvey(7-7) was on top of his game in Pittsburgh as he tossed a beauty of a no-hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Pittsburgh Pirates won by a score of 9 to 0. Harvey gave the home town fans an evening that they'll never forget. He only walked one Arizona batter. The Pittsburgh players and coaches started to leave Harvey alone with his thoughts after the game reached the 7th inning. By the time the 9th inning rolled around, you could hear a pin drop every time he went to his wind-up - and an explosion after every out. Harvey whiffed an impressive total of 11 Arizona batters. Pittsburgh totaled 14 hits on the night. Kris Medlen(9-10) was the loser. He gave up 6 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings of work. 'You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this happening,' said Harvey, 'I don't expect it to sink in for awhile,' he said. 'I'm numb right now, I'm overwhelmed.' |
