The Seattle Mariners won by a final score of 6 to 0. Hernandez was obviously at the top of his game as he set the Philadelphia batters down like so many dominoes. He walked 4 Philadelphia batters. What an evening for the fans. They were on the edge of their seats from the 7th inning on. With every out, the electricity in the air mounted. Seattle totaled 7 hits on the night. Yordano Ventura(11-12) was the losing pitcher. He allowed Seattle 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings of work. 'Not in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen!' Hernandez said as he stood at home plate to salute the fans. 'Once I got into the later innings, I decided to challenge every hitter, and that turned out to be the right decision!' |
