Blake Snell(8-3) pitched a rare no-hitter as the Minnesota Twins toppled the Anaheim Angels 1 to 0. Snell had overwhelming stuff this afternoon. He simply never gave the Anaheim batters a decent pitch to drive. He walked just one Anaheim batter. The tension started to build around the 6th inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified. Snell mowed down 13 Anaheim batters. Minnesota had only 6 hits for the afternoon. Gio Gonzalez(4-11) was the loser. When asked how his stuff was out there, Snell looked a bit incredulous (as did this reporter) and replied 'A bit better than average, I'd have to say' |
